Please join us for our Homeschool/Microschool: Special Education 201 Virtual Training! In this 201 training, we will be going over the following:
- Understanding learning challenges and appropriate accommodations and modifications
- Setting goals, assessing and tracking progress, and how to use various resources to help students meet goals
- Practical tips for helping students with executive functioning support, scaffolding learning, and tips for adding hands-on, visual, and auditory resources
- High school transition planning, transcripts, diplomas, and graduation
Meet Our Speakers:
Krisa Winn is an educator and sought-after public speaker who has served homeschooling families for more than a decade. As a special needs consultant at Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) she worked with thousands of fellow homeschooling parents, offering personalized guidance, resources, and practical help to families homeschooling children with special needs. During her 21 years as a classroom teacher, she taught children of all ages, abilities, and circumstances. She has also worked as a private tutor, an early childhood intervention specialist, and an academic language therapist in training.
Peggy Ployhar, Founder and CEO of SPED Homeschool, is a prominent leader and speaker in the special education homeschooling community. With two decades of experience as a special needs consultant for the Minnesota Association of Christian Home Educators (MACHE) and the Texas Home School Coalition (THSC), and 19 years of experience homeschooling her own children with diverse learning needs, Peggy founded SPED Homeschool in 2017. Her organization empowers families worldwide to successfully home-educate children with diverse learning needs. Peggy is also the primary host of "Empowering Homeschool Conversations," a popular live broadcast and podcast that addresses relevant issues related to homeschooling diverse learners
